HOT, RICH & FAMOUS is a board game about hot chili peppers dreamed up and owned by a brilliant writer-cum-researcher and a wonderful person, Celia Zenaida Aborro. In this project, I was hired to digitize the inventor’s rough sketches into playing cards, game board and other components to complete the board game set.
The HRF project was a marathon exercise in image compositing, vector illustration, and technical writing in close collaboration with the game’s inventor who retained editorial control throughout the project.
Let me share my part in a 4-year collaboration to develop this fabulous game.
HRF Card Designs
The HRF deck has 20 pairs of cards showing a kind of chili pepper, a dish, and a work of art related to a specific country. Each card was meticulously researched and brainstormed by the inventor. Each design started with hand sketches which were scanned and manipulated with an image-editing program. Each design grew as enormous details were added after each submission. The iterations were endless. The results, satifying!
