PACKAGING DESIGN
Reproduction projects. In the projects below, the printing house was provided with a finished product as a reference, and my task was to reconstruct the design and prepare the prepress artwork for color separation and production printing.
Process Description
1. Scanning & Digital Recreation The process began with scanning the source material to capture its layout, typography, and color details. This provided a visual reference for reconstruction in digital format.
2. Layout & Vectorization Using a vector-based graphic design application, I meticulously recreated the layout, ensuring sharp and scalable elements such as logos, text, and icons. This approach maintained clarity and accuracy in print.
3. Image Processing & Integration The background graphics were processed separately in an image editing application to enhance color fidelity and match the original. Once optimized, the background was imported into the vector-based layout.
4. Prepress File Preparation After assembling all elements, the final design was exported as a press-quality PDF. This ensured that the artwork met production standards with proper resolution, color settings, and accurate dielines.
5. Color Separation & Production Output The prepared file was sent for color separation, breaking down the artwork into CMYK plates for production printing. This final step ensured the design was production-ready and faithfully replicated the original reference.
